The name 'scow' comes from the Dutch word 'schouw', one of several classes of flat-bottomed boats sailed in Dutch waters for over 400 years. The boats were first created in Holland to navigate more shallow passage ways, but soon adapted to more diverse waters.
US-built boats looked to create a faster model and thus the modern MC Scow was born. A lighter body and larger sail helped to increase speed and make a better racing boat. MC Scows conquer the waves and winds of Lake Arrowhead with ease and provide a memorable racing experience.
